It has been nearly five years since I last said good bye to this beautiful city and a quick stop in Vilnius to say hello once again has been well worth it. The city has changed a lot since my last visit and still continues to undergo tremendous transformation. I had the opportunity of staying at an apartment I booked via Airbnb. The apartment which was located on Kalvarijos gatvė, I must say, is one of the best apartment I have ever stayed when it comes to planning holidays using Airbnb. First of all, it is very close to the city centre with secure car park. Secondly, it is only 10 to 20 minutes walk to the Gedimino prospektas and 25 to 30 mins walk to the famous Vilnius Cathedral Square. The interior of the apartment is furnished to modern taste and style. It is an apartment I would highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay while in Vilnius.
The highlight of the first couple of days was basically walking around the city to have a feel of what summer looks like in Vilnius city given that my last visit was during the winter season which was not very pleasant to sum it up. This time around, the weather was very warm, pleasant and nice. I headed straight to Gedimino prospektas and the Cathedral Square where I took some awesome shots of the building and the street. The Cathedral Square in Vilnius, called Katedros aikštė by Lithuanians, is the main square of the Vilnius Old Town, right in front of Vilnius Cathedral itself. Vilnius Cathedral is a magnificent building and is among the most beautiful cathedrals in the world. It is a classical masterpiece of the capital city of Lithuania which attracts tourist of different nationality and ethnicity from all over the world.
The weather was fairly warm on the day so I decided to wear my longline green shirt with a black jeans. The brown hat was a good choice to protect my eyes from the rays of the sun, but also to add a bit of dapperism to my look. While I don't yet own a Ferarri, the look was perfected with a pair of brown suede driving moc I picked from TKmaxx only for £40. And talking of effortless style..... the black beads necklace says it all.
