Hey folks, finally glad to back after a short break. I am writing to share some tips on how to look dapper as a mature student or a young professional. Yes! I know it's been a while since I talked fashion on here and I am sure y'all been wondering where I've been. Over the past three months, I've devoted my time and energy on academics. The good news is that it's all over for now and I cannot wait to get out there and start changing lives.
Since completing my studies it's been a matter of job hunting. At the same time, I've been brainstorming about new contents for the blog. So far I've been able to put nice stuffs together, all of which I'll be sharing with you all very soon. In the mean time, lets get back to those tips I've got for you.
Looking back, being a mature student was both fun and challenging. In the academic environment, defining and perfecting your everyday fashion style can be daunting. For some people, being a student basically tranlates to wearing t shirts and jeans most days. However, if you are on a professional course such as dentistry and medicine, looking professional at all times is a huge part of being a student. This greatly influenced my outfit choices when I am out and about on campus.
These shots basically shows a typical me on a typical day. A typical day for me would involve clinical duties, lectures/seminars, and couple of hours in the library. Here, I'm wearing a timeless brown blazer from H&M. I've found this particular blazer to be a perfect choice for my busy day to day activities.
Moreover, the great thing about blazers in general is that you can wear them anyhow you like. They can be combined with T shirts to give a casual look, or with long sleeve shirts on a pair of jeans or chinos for a formal look. I have gone for a brown desert shoes from Topman, and a brown leather belt to complete my look. Going for brown colours; especially with the shoes, makes sense as it blends well with the black colour. However, if you're not too concerned about colour contrast and balance, a pair of black loafers will still do the trick.
The shots were taken outside MIMA art gallery; a gallery of modern and contemporary art at Teesside.
