Dear reader, I can picture you asking, "accessorising for the good old British Summer" what does it even mean? and more so, does it really matter? given the fact that the British weather can be unpredictable. Well I do understand, and I must confess, up until couple of years ago my attitude towards the good old British summer has always been an apathetic one. Don't get me wrong, it's not because I am a moody person. it's just that having spent my childhood and teenage years in a hot country, I could not understand the reason why everyone gets so excited and in some cases, mad because it is summer.
Now you might be wondering, what has changed? or are you still unexcited about summer? The answer is that over the years, I have come to admire the spirit and attitude of the Brits towards the the summer weather. It is an attitude of enjoying it while it lasts. This has changed my outlook and thinking to the point that summer time has become the most exciting and fun part of the year for me. Moreover, with my passion for fashion, I now see myself looking forward to summer time more than ever.
Accessorising for the good old British summer for me, involves spicing and giving life to my style and look during these sunny and warm days. As a bloke, summer time is that time of the year when you can wear less and at the same style look stylish. It is also the time to show off those abs and six packs you've worked for (for those who have them), especially when spending the day at the beach or when you're just raving to the summer festival sounds. As for me, I am stuck in the North East of England this summer. Nonetheless, I'm still keeping it minimal as much as I can. Yes! it's all about the t shirts and shorts.
I've added a bit of style and swag to my appearance with my accessories. Without them it would just be a boring look. All you need is a pair of shade, a hat, bracelets and necklaces. The good news is that it does not cost much to create your own minimal stylish look. As a matter of fact, I picked the bead necklace from a local jewellery store just for a couple of pence. The type of bracelet and necklace depends heavily on your choice and preference. I personally prefer beads and to a little extent, silver for my bracelets and necklaces as I feel there is a bit of coolness associated with beads compared to metals, especially gold. However, if you prefer gold and silver accessories, just make it minimal as much as possible. By the way, the pictures were taken at Redcar Beach on a very hot and sunny Tuesday afternoon.
