As you would have probably noticed if you've read a couple of my previous posts and seen my recent social media uploads, the whole of August was spent in Latvia and Lithuania driving around, visiting friend and family, and having fun. These pictures were taken when I went fishing by the lake on a foggy morning around late August. I have never gone fishing before, and this, being my first time, was so overwhelming but exciting.
We got up very early; at around 5:00 am to be precise, and drove to this lovely and peaceful lake somewhere in Renda (Rendas Pagasts) between Kuldiga and Sabile in Latvia. The lake was in the middle of the forest and although we got there very early, the Sun was already out. There was fog everywhere which made driving a little bit tricky. However, the fog and the low temperature did not put us off at all. Instead, it made the whole experience a beautiful and an unforgettable one. The Sun shinning in-between the pines, combined with the fog; which was just above ground level, was so beautiful to behold.
We caught some fish and headed back to Sabile at around 11:00 am. We also stopped on the way home to pick some wild berries and mushrooms in the forest, which we took home to cook. I used the opportunity to take some closeup shots with my timeless 35mm Nikon lens. I've found that since I have started shooting in manual mode, the pictures I am producing are getting better. When I compare the shots I produce these days to the ones I produced (example) when I first started out, I noticed a huge difference. This has been as a result of the knowledge and tips I've picked up through watching informative you-tube videos by professional photographers such as FroKnowsPhoto. The videos are useful resource for beginners or someone new to photography. However, even though I've gained a lot over the past two years, the learning process still continues.
