This time of the year is characterised by dull, cold and murky days. Likewise, it is that time of the year when we're bombarded with fashion sales every minute of the day. Creating and maintaining a super awesome autumn look is essential for every guy in the know. While I love getting good bargains and discounts, I avoid buying things because they are cheap. Instead, I buy them because I really need them. Consequently, when it comes to choosing autumn/winter outerwear, quality and affordability are high on my list. There are two different ways of going about creating and maintaining a super awesome autumn look. First is by investing in a quality outerwear that is durable and timeless and second, is by mixing and matching already owned pieces.
When it comes to autumn outerwears, my preference lies with outfits from the Nordic countries, Denmark in particular. The blue jacket I am wearing is by Minimum Fashion; an independent fashion brand in Aarhus, Denmark. One thing I love about this particular jacket is the minimalistic and yet, modern and classic Scandinavian look. Same goes for other Scandinavian/Nordic fashion brands like Frederick Anderson, Acne Studios, and H&M just to mention a few. As mentioned earlier, creating and maintaining a super awesome autumn look does not mean buying everything buyable just because they are cheap or because it is the latest fashion trend. Experimenting and getting creative with pieces you already own could be the key to creating and maintaining your style, as well as saving you lots of cash, especially if you worked really hard for that cash. This could simply be achieved by going monochromatic when putting outfits together. Monochromatic colour is a single colour of different shades or gradients. For example, except for my shoes, my jacket, sweater, and jeans, are different shades of one colour; blue. While it is an all blue outfit, the different shades present makes it more eye-catching and interesting.
